Play
Post daycare antics! Learning Porges polyvagal theory of play put it in a new light for me. Play is about having fun but also widening the zone in which our children can regulate. In other words play exercises our sympathetic nervous system so it is more robust for when it is faced with real life challenges. #occupationaltherapy #paediatrics #kids #littlelearnersstudio #play #autism #autismawareness #adhd #ot #goals #grossmotorskills #finemotorskills #handwriting #teachersofi

Calming corners
We love the calming corner OT Sarah set up at the clinic! It is the opposite of time out, it’s a positive place where children can use strategies they’ve learnt to calm their body and mind. When they feel like their engine is running high they can proactively go to their calming corner. #occupationaltherapy #paediatrics #kids #littlelearnersstudio #play #autism #autismawareness #adhd #ot #goals #grossmotorskills #finemotorskills #handwriting #teachersofinstagram #fun #socials

As well as skill building the classes create an environment where positive engagement between parent and child occurs as
